✨ Personal Journey & Background

Q1. Urmi, you started your career as a counselling psychologist. What inspired you to switch from psychology to content creation?
A: While I enjoyed being a psychologist, I realized the impact the digital platform has—not just on youth but on all of us. Sitting in a room and listening to people was rewarding, but I wanted to explore other ways of influencing lives. Content creation felt like a way to inspire people to choose the right thing while also exploring my own passions.

Q2. How did your first steps into food blogging happen? Was there a defining moment when you felt, “This is what I want to do”?
A: Initially, I was just accompanying a friend to events, enjoying the process she went through from start to finish. One day she was invited to a club opening, and being part of that experience made me realize—this is what I truly want to do. The idea of exploring new places while being invited to them was like a dream come true.

Q3. Did your psychology background help you in understanding audiences or creating relatable content?
A: Absolutely. Psychology teaches you to observe and understand human behavior. That helps me connect with audiences more genuinely and create content that resonates.

🍴 Food & Travel Blogging

Q4. You began with food blogging—what’s the most memorable restaurant or dish you’ve covered so far?
A: Every experience brings something unique, but I’d say the real joy is in discovering unique spots where food carries both tradition and soul.

Q5. Your first travel blog was in Wada, Maharashtra. How did that experience shape your passion for travel content?
A: Wada was my first group trip with fellow bloggers. We bonded over meals, shared creative ideas, and made fun reels together. Travel not only opened my heart and mind but also showed me how it brings people together. Interestingly, we got stuck without transport at the end, and that problem-solving moment made me realize that travel content brings out the best in me.

Q6. Goa became a turning point in your journey. What was it about Goa that made it so special for your blogs?
A: Goa was unexpected—a 3N/4D collab in North Goa. Once there, we started pitching to other properties and were pleasantly surprised at the warm welcome. Goa is already a dream destination for many, and we tapped into that. The synergy worked—Goa’s properties benefited, and so did my page and my heart.

👗 Lifestyle & Creativity

Q7. Shifting into lifestyle blogging is a bold move. What challenges did you face while curating fashion, makeup, and jewelry content?
A: The biggest challenge was becoming my own art director. From choosing the right camera and lighting to coordinating colors and outfits—it’s all about balance. Fashion, makeup, and jewelry need creativity, but also discipline to present them beautifully.

Q8. How do you balance aesthetics with authenticity when you post lifestyle content?
A: For me, authenticity is the foundation of aesthetics. I only promote brands that resonate with my personality. I don’t follow trends blindly; I adapt them to my own style. My audience deserves the real me, not just another face in the crowd.

Q9. What kind of response do you get from Gen Z and millennials for your styling choices?
A: They appreciate the relatability. I’m not trying to be perfect; I’m trying to be me. That honesty resonates with younger audiences who value individuality over imitation.

🌍 Industry Insights & Competition

Q10. Content creation today is highly competitive. How do you keep yourself motivated in such an environment?
A: Competition can be healthy, but unfortunately gossip and negativity often creep in. I stay motivated by working out, keeping positive, and drawing inspiration from magazines and my favorite creators’ reels.

Q11. You mentioned forming a supportive group of bloggers. Can you tell us more about the importance of collaboration over competition?
A: I believe in the concept of community. Even though some influencers carry attitude, humility and kindness go a long way. Real women lift each other up. That’s why I created a small group of like-minded women—together, we thrive.

Q12. Do you think the influencer industry in India is evolving in the right direction?
A: It is evolving, yes. But we need more authenticity, less showmanship. The industry will grow stronger when collaboration and originality are valued over numbers.

🚀 Future Vision

Q13. You’ve explored food, travel, and lifestyle—do you see yourself experimenting with any new niches in the future?
A: Definitely. I’d like to experiment with beauty and styling. Makeup fascinates me—it has the power to completely transform and enhance one’s features. It’s a niche I haven’t fully explored yet.

Q14. Many people love your GRWM videos. Are there any other video formats you’re planning to try?
A: I’d like to explore storytelling formats—short lifestyle narratives and behind-the-scenes content that shows the raw, unfiltered side of blogging.

Q15. What’s your ultimate vision for your blogging career in the next five years?
A: I’m taking one day at a time, but my dream is to have my own studio space and be a highly paid blogger who can also mentor and support other creators.

💡 Inspiration & Message

Q16. What advice would you give to people who want to leave a stable profession to follow their passion, just like you did?
A: Be prepared to start from scratch. Your past professional experience may not directly help if your passion is in a very different field. Have savings, plan wisely, and ensure your decision doesn’t harm others who depend on you. Most importantly, make an informed choice—and do what truly makes you happy.

Q17. How do you define success for yourself today?
A: For me, success is balance—being able to create content I love, connect with audiences genuinely, and still find time for myself and my loved ones.

Q18. And finally—what keeps Urmi Chhapia smiling even on the toughest days?
A: The little things. Listening to mantras, working out, painting, writing poetry, catching a movie, or just hanging with friends and family. Life is too short not to smile at its small joys.

Urmi Chhapia’s journey reminds us that passion, when pursued with courage, opens doors to endless possibilities. From therapy rooms to travel vlogs, from food stories to lifestyle diaries—her authenticity, creativity, and resilience continue to inspire a generation of dreamers.
